Top 5 Ways to Lose Weight

The Best Ways to Hit Your Weight Loss Goals.

Ready for the most important 4 letters EVER????

CICO!!!!

Calories In Calories Out

Keto?   Yep ripped the calories out of the carbs

Paleo? Must grab a sphere and hunt your food, if not you die of heart disease from fake foods!

Fasting? Um, just don’t eat and then eat, but only eat within an 8 hour window.

Whole30?  No sugar, no legumes, no grains, no dairy, no fun… wait, sorry that wasn’t one of them.

Blood Type O?
Blood Type A?
Blood Type B?

Basically nothing to do with your blood type but please follow a restrictive diet with less processed food and enjoy health benefits (that have nothing to do with your blood type)

What do they all have in common?

They all get us into a caloric deficit which = weight loss. I had some fun there and I know they all have worked for someone somewhere at sometime in their life.   That’s great and you should keep doing whatever is working for you. Just tread carefully with people preaching the gospel for 1 specific approach….  SNAKE OIL SALESMEN, FUR SUR!

WHY?

There is not a single diet that has ever been studied that works for everyone. If your neighbor went low carb and lost a lot of weight that is amazing..

**That might be the worst approach for you ever.**

It might make you irritable, massive dip in energy and worse of all possibly turn you into someone who stays home and watches the Hallmark channel everyday! AHHHH!

Matt, what’s the TOP 5 already?

Find what works for you, that you enjoy and that you can repeat 80% of the time….

How do you find what works for you?

  • Start with 3 meal frequencies a day as an initial blueprint. We eat for far too many reasons other than hunger
  • Get 7-9 hours of sleep every night (I can’t emphasize this one enough)
  • 5 hours of activity a week with 3 of those ideally being from weight lifting
  • Eat mostly whole foods, while cooking at home not ordering out so much
  • SLOW DOWN your eating speed. Try to at least take 5-10 minutes to eat your meals and in a perfect world (which we live in) you’d take 15 minutes. The brain and the gut take an estimated 15 minutes to communicate with one another to tell the body it’s full.

Making the full integration into your life and making it a lifestyle is the sweet spot. Don’t lose track of the big picture and once you start firing on all of those 5 cylinders you’ll like the finished product!

We overestimate what we can do in 1 day and underestimate what we can accomplish in 1 year. Chip away at these 5, give them time and hire a coach to help you navigate and integrate them into your life. Isn’t it about time 2019 is the year you finally achieve and KEEP your dream body?
